<image:caption>it’s hard to check in with your intuition & you’re polling everyone ELSE about what’s best for YOU. Your thoughts circle in an endless, anxious loop of what you can eat & when, leaving you feeling exhausted & isolated from friends & loved ones.</image:caption>

<image:title>Emily Lombardo Counseling V1 (old) - Hi, I ’m Emily! (She/her/hers)</image:title>
<image:caption>As a recovering people pleaser & fellow human being, I understand the anxiety & exhaustion of chasing perfection firsthand. When there are endless opportunities to compare & scroll, sometimes we need space to be still & connect with the joy of being ourselves. I provide perfectionism & eating disorder therapy for teens & young adults in St. Louis who are ready for experiences that exist just outside their comfort zone, but want support as they work towards meaningful change. If you’ve ever felt like perfectionism is keeping you stuck, struggled with healthy boundaries, or wanted a better relationship to food and body image, it’s time to do something about it. My clients walk away from therapy with me empowered to reject arbitrary societal standards, find trust in their bodies, & build lives they love.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - I ‘m Emily (she/her)</image:title>
<image:caption>You don’t owe anyone perfection. You deserve SO much more than that. I’m a perfectionism & eating disorder therapist based in St. Louis providing in person & virtual therapy. I help high achieving teens & young adults reject exhausting societal standards so they can find trust in their bodies & courage to build a life they love. When searching for a therapist who specializes in perfectionism and eating disorders, it’s no surprise that finding someone who’s a good fit really matters. If you’re looking for someone who is laid back & approachable, but will also hold you accountable to your goals, let’s connect & see what’s possible!</image:caption>

<image:title>About - Here’s how it works:</image:title>
<image:caption>In therapy with me, you can count on someone who is relatable, enthusiastic, & invested in transformation that feels genuine to you & your goals. Meaningful change occurs in a relationship built on trust. Whether we’re talking about recent events or analyzing deeply rooted patterns & beliefs, my approach is to be curious & compassionate, leaving judgement at the door. I bring my authentic personality into the room with me (laughter, tears, & sarcasm included) & I invite you to do the same- we’ll talk about the hard stuff, but we’ll also laugh, celebrate the victories, & unearth the wisdom & power already inside you.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - School | Work | Life</image:title>
<image:caption>After graduating in 2015 with a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Washington University in St. Louis, I worked in schools providing clinical counseling & crisis support as well as post-secondary planning for students in middle school through college & career. I obtained my clinical license (LCSW) in 2019 & started my own practice in 2021 to create a space where teens & young adults are empowered to make positive, powerful and lasting changes to improve their lives. Besides counseling, my other passions include spending time with loved ones, rock climbing, exploring nature, reading, taking cute pictures of my pets, & trying EVERY new Oreo flavor.</image:caption>

<image:title>Teens - Whatever it is that they’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of their lives:</image:title>
<image:caption>Exams, assignments, & school responsibilities are increasingly overwhelming & stressful, even when your teen is doing well. Social media influence is starting to impact your teen’s friendships, time management, & self worth. They’ve lost some of the spark & confidence they had when they were younger & you want to reignite their confidence, passion, & zest for life.</image:caption>

<image:title>Teens - Therapy with teens can help.</image:title>
<image:caption>Being a teen, & the parent of a teen, is hard work, but during this period of adolescence is the potential for self discovery, exploration, & joy. Your teen can learn from & grow through hard experiences. Your teen can develop healthy coping skills that set a foundation for them to build a life they love. And they don’t have to do it alone.</image:caption>

<image:caption>My approach to working with teens is laid back, sometimes even fun, cultivating a space where your teen feels heard & respected. Together, we work through difficult emotions, empowering teens to explore what matters to them, what they believe in, & what they want for their futures.</image:caption>

<image:caption>You’ve always done well in high school, so it feels overwhelming & disappointing to ask for help- suddenly you’re uncertain about your ability to reach your goals. It’s hard to check in with your intuition & you’ve started polling everyone ELSE about what’s best for YOU. Why doesn’t life have a roadmap??
